  • Working for a 10+ years established architectural and design firm specialising in the design & structural analysis of residential and commercial buildings

  • Working alongside London Underground via the Track Partnership scheme between Balfour Beatty Rail and London Underground to deliver short term strategic planning for track renewal works for various stations
  • Creating a programme for weekend track works, analysing track designs and survey data to thoroughly check accuracy and discrepancies in readings
  • Attending site visits, preparing resource plans and schedules and producing planning documents such as method statements and site diaries.

Dragados-Sisk Joint Venture (DSJV) (London, UK)                                                                Oct 2012 – Oct 2013 Student Engineer

  • Part of the team working on the project C305 construction of Crossrail’s Eastern Running Tunnels, the biggest project in Europe.
  • Monitoring of groundwater and piezometers at stations, finding solutions to engineering problems on site such as working out skin friction of existing piles, monitoring of boreholes during surveying/levelling to identify inconsistent points.
  • Using co-ordinates of points to find them on map to find actual position of area were work was being carried out
  • Measuring length of water mains at tunnels eastbound and westbound.
  • Calculations carried out on amount of concrete rings used by TBM’s (Tunnel Boring Machines) on a weekly basis which informed other engineers and staff the rate at which the TBM’s were working at and whether required daily targets were being met when drilling.
  • Carried out various calculations and critical data analysis as well as updating data/records on spreadsheets and word documents, to ensure they were up to date and reliable so they could be trusted should staff need to refer to them

Passionate about helping people and knowing that I am making a difference demonstrated by carrying out charity work for an organisation called Ummah Welfare Trust during free time, as well as mentoring first year students and assisting them in studies. Also made a difference by being a programme representative of the University of East London and putting forward any issues or concerns students had regarding the course at monthly programme representative meetings.
